The title follows the “play of phrases” endemic to my work, but also based on a foreign person saying “relax” with an accent that no one quite knows where it could be from, yet when said with confidence, no one ever questions it. For the record, I love foreign accents. Being a surrounded by foreign nationals is where I feel most comfy because, well, I wasn’t born here either.

Some of it was inspired by my own parody of the art industry, where I consistently see so many talented artists painting luxury brand logos onto their body of work for a quick sell + the idea that time in it of itself is a form of luxury, if you really think about it.
