Play in the phrase stems from my recent observations of how some artists appear to really thrive at replicating other artists’ style + body of work. #kaws being a prime example. And some are absolutely incredible at it also.

Do they do it just “because”, or do they do it to just “be (like) KAWS”? It also made me wonder – what’s the fine line between possible copyright infringement OR highest form of flattery?

Naturally, I decided to explore + attempt interpreting it myself in my own way + style. More like paying homage to @kaws rather than copying Brian’s iconic style + presence.
