can of whoop ass
This was a great way to combat my initial frustrations against my Nigerian “friend” pretending to be me on Instagram – through my sense of humor. I called this piece, “can of whoop ass”.
I decided to do a play off the likeness of @pringles can, as homage to #walterdorwinteague (not just for having worked there in my past life while in Seattle, but also for Wally’s packaging design many, many, many decades ago that is so synonymous with the #pringles brand).
The can summed up the sequence of events for me that many can relate to on some level. The cans can easily get knocked over, spilling chips. It can be messy + a minor inconvenience, but we tip it back up, place the spilled chips back in the can, put a lid on it, and keep going about our daily lives.
And instead of “Julio”, I also created “Al Beecher” to incorporate my fascination with play of words/phrases, of course. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
